I don’t remember exactly when I first met Arosha — I think it must have been around 17 years ago, at one of the European leadership team meetings. From that moment on, our paths often crossed frequently and we always talked about the business and the people we both know and value. After 2016, we always had the chance to see each other during the Leadership Summit in Chicago. Somehow, it often worked out that we ended up taking the same bus to the events organized by the global team. My memory of those moments is always the same: it’s cold - Chicago in the fall or early spring, Arosha in his black coat or jacket, me sitting next to him… both of us looking for warmth and talking about what matters to us. I never imagined back then that our paths would intertwine again 10 years later, and that he would be the one introducing me to my new responsibilities. What has always struck me about Arosha is how fully present he is with the person he’s speaking to — dedicated, open, respectful, thoughtful, and unfailingly polite. He listens, he reflects, he shares his experience. All of this made me feel genuinely comfortable in his company. You could always count on him for a clear and grounded point of view. I’ve learned so much from Arosha, especially about the business - but most importantly, about people and how to build strong relationships with our business partners. When I think of Arosha, I always picture... his shirts… perfectly ironed, better than new. Every time, I feel a bit embarrassed — I certainly don’t have those skills. It’s an art… not only the technique of ironing, but the focus and attention to detail behind it. Not long ago, I learned that we share the same taste in desserts. It happened at a dinner when someone asked what sweets we liked. We both said that one of our favorites is KUNEFE — and then, at the exact same moment, we added that the best we ever had was… at the old bazar in Jerusalem. :-)
